Asian Financial Forum 2023
“Roundtable Discussion on Indonesian Infrastructure Development & Capital City Relocation”
and MoU Signing Between the Institution of Public Private Partnerships HK and
the Real Estate Developers of Indonesia (REI) on 11th January 2023, HKCEC, Hong Kong
Our Chairman, Mr. Billy Tam, and Vice-chairman, Mr. Francis Sootoo, attended the 16th Asian Financial Forum organized by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council on Wed 11th Jan 2023. The 2-days Forum attracted over 7,000 attendees from over 70 countries and regions, in person and online.
The Roundtable Discussion on “Indonesian Infrastructure Development & Capital City Relocation”
was hosted by HKTDC and chaired by Mr. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director, HKTDC and facilitated by Mr. Kevin Chiu, Director, Indonesia, HKTDC.
After the Roundtable discussion, HKTDC kindly hosted an MOU signing ceremony between IPPP HK and the Indonesian Real Estate Developers Association (REI) delegation led by Mr Rusmin Lawin, The Special Envoy of Nusantara Capital City and the Vice President for Foreign Affairs, Real Estate Developers Association Indonesia, to exchange insight of the latest update on the Nusantara, new Capital City, other Development Potentials and Public Private Investment Opportunities in Indonesia.
REI Delegation participated in the Roundtable included Ms. Leny Maryouri, CEO, Pembangunan Investasi Indonesia (PPI), Mr. Andre Sylvester, Head of Merger and Acquisition Consumer Group, Sinar Mas, Mr. Alan Ye, Chief Business Development Officer, Jababeka and Mr Slamet Noegroho, Economic Council, Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia.
IPPP HK participants attended in person included our Chairman, Mr. Billy Tam, our Vice Chairmen, Mr. Steven Lai and Mr. Francis Sootoo, our Honorary Advisors, Prof Albert Chan and Dr. MW Chan, our Council Member, Mr. David Yau and our Company Member, Ms. Christine Wong. In addition to the attendees who joined in person, we were delighted to have our Honorary President, Mr. Walter Chan, our Honorary Advisor, Prof Kerry London and our Honorary Secretary, Ms. Moon Wei, who joined the Roundtable online from overseas.
Other participants included Mr Daniel Chun, Council Member, Smart City Consortium and Mr Su Wei, Director, Head of Business Development, CIC International.
After the discussion, our Chairman, Mr. Billy Tam and the Vice President for Foreign Affairs, Real Estate Developers Association Indonesia, Mr. Rusmin Lawin signed the MoU. This MoU covers areas of
mutual collaboration between IPPP HK and REI on recognizing their strengths to promote professional practitioners in research and continue professional education for the exchange of PPP information, with the aim of implementing infrastructure development projects in an efficient and sustainable way via PPP project delivery model.
