On 29 June 2022, our Vice Chairman, Ir Francis Sootoo attended the virtual forum Building for the Future, ASEAN, jointly organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), Ministry of Transport, Thailand. This forum included TOD experts from Thailand and representative from State Railway of Thailand and Digital expert from HK to share the success experience on the design strategies integrating transportation and tourism in both HK and Thailand including The Master Plan and Economic Benefits – Bang Sue Smart City Development, The Latest Plan on High-speed Rail Development and Impact on Tourism Industry and Immersive Digital Tourist Experience under the TOD routes and network.

 

Ir Francis Sootoo shared the TOD development of HK, with example of the Rail plus Property model and the evolution of Hong Kong West Kowloon District and the connection with Greater Bay Area (GBA) the which brings together public transportation, commercial and cultural experience to promote tourism in HK wide ranging attractions from commercial districts to the rich country parks and beyond the border to GBA.
