Welcome Ir Dr Otto Poon to join Institution of Public Private Partnerships

We are very delighted to announce that the Institution of Public Private Partnerships has an honor to have Ir Dr Otto Poon as our Honorary Advisor. Dr Poon will bring in perspectives from different fields and disciplines that are readily applicable and provide a new lens through which it will bring valuable benefits to our Institution.
Ir Dr Poon Lok To Otto, BBS, OBE, is a Chartered Engineer with over 50 years of E&M and environmental engineering experience. He is the Founder and Chairman of ATAL Engineering Group specialising in engineering trading, contracting, manufacturing and services. The Group has over 2,500 staff, headquartered in Hong Kong with offices and joint ventures in Macau, Mainland China, USA and UK.
Over the years, Dr Poon participated in public services both to the community and the engineering profession including, among others, Advisory Council on the Environment, Energy Advisory Committee, Council for Sustainable Development, Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel, Lift and Escalator Safety Advisory Committee, Advisory Committee of School of Energy and Environment of City University of Hong Kong, Trustee Board of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK, and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society(CMES), PRC. He is the Past President of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Hong Kong Association of Energy Engineers, Hong Kong Chapter of Association of Energy Engineers and Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors, as well as Past Chairman of Hong Kong Branch of IMechE and Hong Kong Climate Change Forum. Dr Poon is also the Life President of Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors.
Dr Poon is currently the President of Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, Member of Advisory Committee of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of the University of Hong Kong, Member of International Advisory Committee of the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development and Member of International Advisory Committee of the Smart Cities Research Institute of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and Adviser of Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre, to name a few.
In recognition of his dedicated public and community services, Dr Poon was conferred University Fellowship by PolyU, Honorary Degree of Doctor of Technology (Hon DTech) by Coventry University and Honorary Fellowship by University of Central Lancashire. He wasalso awarded Honorary Fellowship by Energy Institute, UK and elected as a PolyU Outstanding Alumni, an IMechE Outstanding Branch Member of the Year and a CMES Honorary Member.
We are honoured to have Dr. Poon’s support as our Honorary Advisor. We are confident that Dr Poon's guidance will greatly enhance the recognition of IPPP among PPP professionals and organisation in Hong Kong and abroad.
