IPPP UPDATE
At the invitation from United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), IPPP delegation (Chairman Walter Chan and Vice-Chairman Billy Tam) attended The Asia-Pacific Conference on Financing inclusive and Sustainable Development held on 10-12 December 2019 at InterContinental Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Opening Address was delivered by Mr. Abdul Hamid, Honorable President, People’s Republic of Bangladesh. UN Secretary General, Bangladesh Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Finance, and other senior government officials delivered opening speeches.
Plenary Sessions cover the following subjects:
- Inclusive Financing for Strategic Development Goals in Asia and the Pacific
- Inclusive and Sustainable Financing: Risks and Opportunities for the Banking Sector
- Innovative Finance to Achieve Inclusive and Sustainable Business and Investment: Capital Market Development, Blended Finance and FinTech
IPPP delegation met Dr. Tientip Subhanij, Chief, Financing for Development, ESCAP and Mr. Jiao Xiaoping, Director-General China, China Public Private Partnerships Center to explore opportunities for organising the 2020 ESCAP "Meeting of the Infrastructure Financing and PPP Network of Asia and the Pacific" in Hong Kong.
